Hatched was pretty lucky this week when Nitehawk Chef Michael Franey kindly cooked up some of the Italian-inspired dishes for our upcoming Beer Dinner and a Movie presentation of The Godfather: Part II on March 6. We saw, we photographed, and, naturally, we tasted. Buon appetito!
Course 3: “The Black Hand”
Salumi e Formaggio
sopressata, mortadella, taleggio
Michael says, “The main inspiration for all of the dishes was what I thought were some of the most significant scenes. When Vito is working in the grocery, he sits down with his friend and has a meal of cured meats and cheeses. The Savory Zeppole is inspired by Fanuccis walk through the San Genarro Festa. The Camarones Sofrito by Michaels trip to Cuba to celebrate Hyman Roths birthday. And the Blood Orange Sorbet by Don Vitos return to Sicily to avenge his families death.”
Course 5: Hyman Roth’s Birthday

Course 6: San Gennaro Festa

Course 8: Don Cicci
